Poul Henningsen's lifelong collaboration with Louis Poulsen began in 1925. The Danish deign genius’s pioneering work concerning the relationship between light structures, shadows, glare and colour reproduction when compared to man’s need for light still forms the basis for the theories practiced by the brand to this very day.
The pendant is based on Henningsen's original drawings from the late 1920s and early 1930s, featuring his world-famous three-shade system and typifying his devotion to taming electric light. Based on a logarithmic spiral, it makes optimum use of the light source and the glare-free result serves to make homes all the more beautiful.
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of mouth-blown opal three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matt on the underside, giving a soft and uniform light distribution.
This Louis Poulsen pendant is made especially for you and will be delivered in 2-3 weeks.
