THE PARISIANER: UTOPIE 2050
Paying tribute to the famous covers of The New Yorker, The Parisianer collection showcases a multi-faceted, dynamic and vibrant city thanks to the work of more than 100 artists.
The Utopies 2050 artwork is an extension of this and sees 13 artists design the Paris of tomorrow, imagining a city where one would dream of living in the future. Taking into account climate changes linked to global warming, the artists were asked to design the ‘covers’ of the imaginary magazine, The Parisianer.
Requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affaires as part of the European Heritage Days, and as a preview to the COP21, these imaginary covers illustrate idealistic scenes from everyday life, in a city metamorphosed by urban development, including climate change, ecological progress and technology.
But where the spirit of Paris remains intact, even three decades on from now, ‘Paris will always be Paris’.
