LOUIS POULSEN | VL45 Radiohus Pendant | Vilhelm Lauritzen | 2 sizes available
£318.00 GBP £375.00 GBP
Vilhelm Lauritzen was not just one of the most prominent, respected and productive architects in Danish history, he was also a master of the art of uniting materials and light. He devoted his working life to developing and improving his lamps, which blended in harmoniously with the buildings he designed.
In partnership with Louis Poulsen,
Lauritzen originally designed the Radiohus Pendant in the 1940s for the construction of the Radiohuset building on Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, which is now home to the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
The beautiful lamp’s enduring popularity saw it restored to the Louis Poulsen collection with a September 2016 relaunch featuring two sizes - 250mm and 370mm diameter. It consists of three layers of mouth-blown glass; the innermost and outermost layers are made of transparent polished glass, while white glass is used for the intermediate layer.
It provides uniform, general and diffuse illumination. The opening at the bottom of the glass produces downwards-directed light, with the quality of the material ensuring the fixture is evenly lit.
This Louis Poulsen pendant is made especially for you and will be delivered within 10 days.
