Go straight to FEAST Collection
I had heard rumours. Then the UK agent got in touch to ask if we would like to be a partner store for the launch of an exciting new tableware collection by Yotam Ottolenghi, made by Belgian design label Serax.
I said Yes before the 'lenghi' part of Ottolenghi had sounded!

And then when I first saw the pictures of what was to come, I was, what I can only describe as, right royal thrilled!
I've been around the tableware business for 30 years and my preference to date has definitely been towards a simple white china canvas for my bounty.
But this. Wow! This is so new & clever, colourful & bold, and most importantly joyful. The collection me salivate just looking at it, even before Ottolenghi's delicious recipes (or my appalling attempt at them) are layered on top.
I'm very proud that we are stocking this collection in Treacle George. It is exactly what we are about.

Feast by Ottolenghi, which includes dinnerware, serving pieces, cutlery, and glassware, is meant to be used for everyday and special occasions alike.
“This is what I love so much about this collection. It is so free and diverse. It’s so incredibly eclectic. It just covers all grounds for me,” says Ottolenghi. “My food has never been just about one thing: It is equally complex as it is simple; it can be served at a relatively formal setting, or you can have it straight out of bowl as you stand by the fridge. This collection is a perfect reflection of this.”
Feast tableware by Ottolenghi and Bisignano
With an abundance of colours, vegetable prints and positive vibes the brand new FEAST collection reflects everything its creator stands for. The British-Israeli chef Yotam Ottolenghi created this range of expressive tableware with the most joyful of gatherings in mind: coming together with friends and family, sharing food and exchanging stories. On this project the chef joined hands with Italian artist Ivo Bisignano. “Ivo is a good friend as well as a soul-mate for the creative process in all Ottolenghi graphics”, Yotam Ottolenghi states. “His art, in whatever medium, is honest, expressive, bold, joyful and colourful. Attributes we strive to achieve in our food.”
Wildly colourful
"Working with Ivo Bisignano, we always knew the collection will have to be a riot of colours, echoing the food we serve, which is always multi-layered and full of contrasts. There isn’t one kind of Ottolenghi recipe or dish, just like there isn’t one kind of plate in Ivo’s collection. Yet there is definitely a thread of intensity and exuberance."
An impulsive gesture of an ‘O’ shaped brush stroke
Apart from the graphic language of the O the artist also incorporates abstract images of vegetables, an essential ingredient in Ottolenghi’s signature cuisine. “I have drawn thousands of vegetables in this process trying to achieve the effect of stamping actual vegetables on a plate”, Bisignano says.
